Lenny-x64-quads

Lenny-x64-quads is a customized Debian image based on Lenny-x64-nfs version 2.2. The goal is to provide a complete image ready to experiment QU4DS [REF] on Grid5000.

There are further information about how to use it with Kadeploy.


Identification sheet

Lenny-x64-quads

  • Based on: Debian version lenny for amd64
  • Reference file: /home/alage/g5k-images/lenny-x64-quads.tgz at Rennes (md5sum is TODO)
  • Valid on: any cluster which is valid for lenny-x64-base

Kernel version 2.6.26-2-amd64 from Debian for amd64/em64t

Authentication

  • Remote console: enabled on ttyS0 at 34800 bps
  • Services: ldap:yes, nfs:yes
  • Accounts: root:grid5000, g5k:grid5000, alage:rennes

Applications

  • Text: Vim, XEmacs, JED, nano, JOE
  • Script: Perl, Python, Ruby
  • Development: quads source, lynx, bash-completion, sun-java6-jdk, apache, ant, vorbis-tools, subversion, loco, most, htop, flac, shntool, unzip
  • System script: added a script that launches rmiregistry as user alage during the bootstrap (see /etc/rc2.d/S99rmiregistry)

Misc

Build

The difference between this environment and Lenny-x64-base-2.2 is the presence of some development tools earlier described and QU4DS source code. QU4DS stuff was placed at alage's home folder.

Deploying

To deploy this environment, you need to specify the environment's owner in the Kadeploy call. E.g.:

kadeploy3 -e lenny-x64-quads -u alage -f $OAR_FILE_NODES -k
